new colors

The new 2014 wool blend felt colors are out and we have them in stock! This is an amazing set of blooming colors. Perfect additions to our already amazing palette. Come see all 145 colors of heirloom quality wool blend felt  in our Etsy shop!

We all know colors appear differently on various monitors and digital devices. An image on your iPad might look really different than it does on your laptop, and different altogether from how it looks on your computer monitor at work.

(Don’t worry – I won’t tell your boss you are shopping for felt while you should be finishing up that TPS report!)

If you need help, I’ve written up descriptions of all the colors of felt I sell (including the discontinued colors) so that you can have a better idea of what they look like in reality. I tried my best. Hope you think they are accurate. The link will take you to a PDF that you can download or print out for your reference. Of course the best way to see what all the colors are like in person is to get my swatch card set! ;)

We are starting to stock the larger 12×18 sheets of our heirloom quality wool felt! We don’t have all 126 shades in stock (yet) but we are adding more every week. Contact me if there is a color that you want and I will do my best to get it! Get them now in our Etsy shop!

We are back from vacation and again shipping felt orders same or next day!

The Cape Cod Collection

A different felt retailer on Etsy, Giant Dwarf, has gone out of the felt business in order to focus on her lovely wedding accessory line. If you were a customer of hers and want to get more of her ‘fancy felt’ – come to my Etsy shop. I’ve got all her colors plus 90 more. I can easily tell you which colors of mine match hers. They are the exact same material from the same manufacturer (she just changed the names).

On Thursday my little one turns 4! (omg!)

To celebrate, I’m having special deals available only on Facebook. If you do not “like” us on Facebook yet, go do it now and reap the benefits! ;)

There have been 5 daily Facebook deals so far, with two more coming. They can be combined together if you want to save on shipping. Also, they are all still in effect thru the 27th, so if you missed out on #1 you can still “claim” it. The way it works is you just send me a message and let me know what you want, along with your PayPal email address.  I then invoice you, and once paid, ship the goods.

All deals will expire the 28th so hop to it if you want some good deals on our felt and patterns!

My latest project for Jack’s room was super easy and c-h-e-a-p cheap.  I got a $5 lamp from IKEA (yes, $5 for the whole thing) and cut out polka dots of all different sizes from the left over felt from the Modern Baby Boy Collection that was used for last week’s safari wall art. I probably cut 80 circles out with my hand punches. (I could have used my Cuttlebug machine and Nestabilities dies, but this time I went old school.) To finish it up I then glued them onto the shade with plain ol’ tacky glue.

Emma wants one now, too. She already has a lamp with a plain white shade so I’m just going to glue the dots (pinks, greens and chocolate brown – Emma’s colors) to her existing shade.

It looks great along side the recycled the paper lanterns from Jack’s Baptism Party!

A month or so ago we moved into a new house and each kid now has their own room. (hurrah!) I am finishing up Jack’s room (he is one) and it really is coming along great. The last few details are being added. Yesterday’s project was making three little pictures to hang above his dresser. They are  felt (from the sweet emma jean Etsy shop, of course!) and only took me a few hours to do. Since they are framed behind glass I just glued the pieces, adding a few sewing embellishments where needed. The great thing about wool felt is you can use ordinary tacky glue and it won’t bleed through like it does with the synthetic felt you get from Michael’s and Hobby Lobby. And don’t forget there are over 120 colors to choose from! So your possibilities are limitless… Many of the colors I used came from my Modern Baby Boy Collection, a specially priced set of eight colors.

My main Etsy shop “sweet emma jean” will be closed for about a week while we pack up everybody (and all the felt) and move to Boston. I will still be replying to convo’s and e-mails so if you have a question don’t hesitate to ask. Also, I will still be selling my felt food PDFs thru my “pop up” shop on Etsy : The Felt Shop. Be sure to ‘like’ us on Facebook or subscribe to us on Twitter so you will be the first to know when we reopen the main shop. Looking forward to doing business with you again soon. Wish us luck!

I was inspired by my friend Julia to make one of these stacked felt circle Christmas tree ornaments. I raided my  stash of felt and took a sheet of each shade of green that I sell in my Etsy shop. The result is amazing. I am going to make as many as I can in the next two weeks to give as gifts! PS I made the felt sheets thicker and fluffier by soaking them in hot water, squeezing the water out, then drying them in the dryer for 30 minutes. I think it adds a nice effect to the tree.

Made from each shade of green available in my Etsy shop!
